It really is a realistic way of looking at things. I co-own a custom furniture company. We are local here in California and would absolutely be considered American Made. My partner builds everything himself. However, obviously some of the things we use to build – the lumber for example – often comes from somewhere else. Where possible we prefer to use local companies or at least American, we even used a California farrier (blacksmith) for most of the metal parts in our Mission bedroom line. But it’s often not cost effective, or just not an option.
I look forward to following your journey through the year.
